Vulnerary

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD.

As I begin this journey of sharing with you, I pray that my words will be vulnerary, healing and soothing.

I am sure that many of you are familiar with the ole' childhood rhyme, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." If only these words were true. Unfortunately, nothing could be further from the truth. Indeed, words are capable of wounding the body, mind, heart, and soul with scars that can not be easily seen - and yet the trauma can years to heal - if ever.

On the other hand, the simple words we share can brighten someone's day and be the catalyst for a person to step back from the ledge of despair with a new found sense of faith and hope.

As you journey through the remainder of this day, take time to consider to what degree are the words of your mouth and the meditations of your heart vulnerary and thus pleasing to your divine and authentic self.
